Trip Overview

Launched at the Lake Front Motel and paddled the Upper Susquehanna south to Milford. Enter the river just southeast of the launch. Clear water with a modest current for several miles. There is a dam at the Mill Street crossing, short portage on either side, not difficult. Possibility of debris dams especially in early spring before the Regatta. Several places where the current increases with riffles and rocks just below the surface. Closer to Milford, the river widens and current is gentler, nice views of surrounding hills and pastures. Take-out is at the Rt 166 bridge, upriver left side. 4.5 hours in early May.

Safety Notes

Use caution in early spring when approaching debris dams. They are cleared in May by Regatta volunteers.
