Nice Mill Dam to West Fork Recreation Area

A self-supported trip created by Nappybeard

Trip Overview

We started from below the dam where the portage was easy. Our first trip with my wife’s new Crescent 10’ she got for our 30th. (No spring chickens) The ripples were easy, and there were a couple at first. We were in a bit of a rush so we pretty much paddled through in about 2.5 hours. Lots of beautiful scenery. Trout rising and turtles napping. All flat water after about 1/2 mile.

Safety Notes

Fishermen were courteous slowing when passing, and yielding.

Gear Notes

12 Jackson, 10’ ultra light Crescent.

Conditions

Clean water, some trash on the shore but not much after first mile.
