Trip Overview

Parked in Cotswold water park Car Park, luckily the gate is open to the field overflow parking at the moment, so you can get much closer to the river. Paid using RingGo app (as read there have been issues with the ticket machine & fines in the past. there is a camera so you need to pay if your car enters the car park or you get a fine in the post!). Paid £3.40 for over 3 hours parking....

Follow path through hedge into next field, through hedge at end, and turn left to go over a cement bridge. There is a swing gate on the bridge (this is part of the riverside walk), so easier to navigate if there's two of you. Entry into Thames is boggy due to it being a cow field, but that adds to the fun...

Went for a nice gentle paddle about an hour up stream, past moored boats, under a pretty bridge, where you start to find the already mild current and wind drops off, then left at the willow, by where the old Canal used to join up with the river (dried up now). After this the river starts to thin a little, loads of great wildlife, trees, reeds, etc, past the church.....

homeward Journey great as you can pretty much let the current do the work. Had a nice play around by the bridge past the marina, & the Riverside hotel at the end, until the Swans came, then headed back upstream to the entry point, to give them some space... But aware you can keep going beyond the bridge until you reach the lock.
