New River is a calm and pleasant trip even though highway noise is heard during the entire paddle. There is a large tree down that blocks the river after about 50 minutes of paddling. Saw two turtles, one alligator and some birds. A fun little trip. The county needs to remove the garbage cans that people are using to dump household garbage, yuck!
