Trip Overview

Nashua River - Oxbow Wildlife Refuge

Put in at Oxbow canoe landing. River was relatively high and had some current. After paddling upstream a bit to test the current we turned around and headed back into the wildlife refuge. Paddled downstream to the the Route 2 bridge.

Had to navigate a few eddys around fallen trees. Paddle back upstream was not too bad but a little more than we expected. River was a little high.

Nice day for a paddle, the section through the Oxbow was very quiet and secluded.

Directions:

Take 110 south from route 2.

After going through Harvard town center look for Depot Road on the right.
