Trip Overview

I woke up very early this morning and decided to take my Epix 18X for a spin. I had been practicing rescues and rolls for a week or two and just had the need for speed. After a short stack of pancakes at The Capri Fish House I headed out.

This is a great place to paddle fast but still enjoy the scenery. Although I love the summer heat down here, when you get that first cool day it really makes you want to get going. I use an Epic Mid wind paddle that I just love. I have learned to roll this boat with a wing paddle but it takes regular practice to keep the roll tuned up with a wing paddle.

Anyway, paddled hard and fast around Cannon Island, a popular run with the local paddlers club down here Paradise Coast Paddlers Club. I really enjoy paddling this boat in the "racing" position, that is, knees upright to allow for full rotation down the spine.
