Trip Overview

Our 3rd trip this year in the kayaks. The Muskegon River was at least a foot or two higher than normal. The trip that normally takes about 3 hours cruising, was over in just over an hour. We were not alone in the river by a long shot. A fly fishing by boat tournament was underway. We passed many fishermen who just smiled with the thought that they are not the only ones out in the weather. Fantastic trip and fair weather in the mid 30's made for a very nice trip. Rivers take on a whole new look in the winter. Just be careful with the paddles. This river is clogged with canoeists in the summer months. Weekends are impossible. Winter is very quiet.
