Trip Overview

If you live in San Antonio, a really nice day trip is down the Medina.

We started at a private ranch and went down stream approx. 9 miles. Took out at Alamo River Resort in Von Ormy which is a camping park on the Medina.

We spent the night and really enjoyed the quiet and solitude and it is so close to downtown, right on the SA city limits.

This is a wild river, some trees that have to be gotten around. Small portage around a Bexar Met take out coffer dam. Fishing seemed pretty good, saw no snakes.

Accommodations:

Tent and RV parking, water at most sites with full hook ups for RVs

Fees:

$15.00 day use and $25.00 for over night.
