Trip Overview
Beautiful Autumn Day with Sidekick Joe. We launch at McGinnis Ferry Boat Launch and head towards our final destination at Jones Bridge Park West (aka Barnwell Rd. Park), 11:Miles. Along the way, we pass 5 bridges, 1 historic, all historic locations with great fun facts, which I share. Bridges include, in order, McGinnis Ferry, Rogers Bridge, Abbotts Bridge, State Bridge and Medlock Bridge, as well as the site of former Jones Bridge. Of course we’ll be fishing, or at least casting.
Wasn’t a great fishing day and we even had a chat with the best fishing guide on the river, Chris Scalley, the owner of "To River Through Atlanta". He shares some valuable insights. This section of the lower Chattahoochee River begins at McGinnis Ferry Boat Launch, 8.3 miles below Buford Dam and Lake Lanier. It’s a slower section, so sit back, relax, grab a cold beverage, maybe a cigar, and enjoy our adventure in REAL TIME for a cozy 4:Hours.
I'm attaching a movie I made of this trip. It's on my YouTube Channel, along with playlists for the Chattahoochee, Etowah, Chestatee and Toccoa Rivers. @RedKayaGuy-RKG
Feel free to reach out to me if yo have any questions. Thanks, and I'll see you on the river!
