Trip Overview

The Maumee river upstream of the I-475 There are some small to moderately sized holes as well as some standing waves about 2-4 feet in size depending on the water level. The best water levels for this area are between 4-5.5 feet on the Waterville gauge. This is about a class II-II+ area. The only danger comes in the size of the hole and the lip of water flowing over it. This is a very shallow area. If you do happen to be windowshaded, which is difficult broken faces and cuts are very likely if this happens. Cartwheels are only possible in a disco or similar sized boat. Pirouettes are possible on the waves. There is parking in Metro sidecut park. Squirts are possible on second and third eddyline. Best park and play on the whole river.

Directions:

Off of 475 Waterville exit Go to Sidecut Metro park.
