Mattapoisett River

Trip Overview

The Mattapoisett River is quite a hidden gem. The water is nearly black with tannins and has a few class I rapids. I put in at Snipatuit Pond in Middleboro. This pond is also the source of the river. The river flows through swamps and meadows. I took out at the point where the river meets tidewater, which is Route 6.

Portage Notes

@ River mile 7.75 there is a complex of dams. The portage is 10 yards.
