Trip Overview

I have lived nearby for 10 years and never went to this area to paddle. Boy, have I been missing out.

The Martiny Chain of Lakes is a group of 6 lakes and a number of small ponds connected by channels. There are few boats to contend with and the ones you do see are normally going at a no wake speed. The channels make for interesting trips and you will see abundant amounts of wildlife. You can spend anywhere from a couple hours to a weekend paddling these waters, it just depends on how you travel.

Accommodations:

There are 2 campgrounds and several boat launches on the chain.

Directions:

From Big Rapids, east on 16 mile, north on 110th, east on 17 Mile to launch at end of road.
