Trip Overview

A few hours of paddling at Petrie Island. We left the dock at Oziles' Marina since my friend was renting. We headed east, around the peninsula, and then west, along the river, and under the northern extension of Trim Rd. Once thru the culvert, we headed towards the right and entered the marshy areas, where we saw countless turtles and herons. We spent about 2.5 hours on the water, in all.

Safety Notes

No safety concerns. The channel is quite wide and while there are motor boats, there are no issues.

Gear Notes

SeaDolphin Aruba 10 kayak, my kayaking buddy was using a marina rental

Conditions

Sunny, still water, lots of wildlife today.

Portage Notes

none
