Trip Overview
Well Steuben County, Indiana located in the northeast corner of the state is just chucked full of glacier made lakes and connecting creeks. I find that "Marsh Lake" is a great quite place to start your trip. There is a connecting creek that runs through a breathtaking marsh. The best time to be in there is early morning when the birds are leaving their roosts. You can then go east for approx 3 over about 5 more lakes till you end up in the three lake basins of Lake James. This is a great relaxing easy trip for the novice and of bird watcher.
The fishing is also very good for 10-14 inch bluegill. These shellcrackers are a blast with a flyrod.
