Trip Overview

We started out for Lake Lenepe, and arrived there around 12:30 only to find out the lake was closed do to a boat race. We asked one of the park personnel if we could drop in any way far up the lake. She said sorry, but recommended one of her best kept secrets Maple Lake. We thanked her and off we went, after receiving directions.

We arrived at Maple Lake and dropped our two little Swiftys in, right on a little beach off the road. There seems to be plenty of parking for this location.

After four days of rain it was a little overcast as we started out, but it cleared up shortly after that. The lake itself is not too big, but it makes a great little hour and a half trip. Along its beautiful shores, Maple Lake is host to a plethora of wild life. We especially had fun photographing the turtles sunning themselves on the side of the lake. We did notice a boat fishing, and by the time we got back there were a couple of other people fishing on the far shore. We had a great time and highly recommend Maple Lake to anyone looking for a nice little jaunt.
