Trip Overview

This is a beautiful lake just south of the Barkhampstead Reservoir. The lake provides about 2 hours of paddling to navigate the entire circumference. The water is clean and clear, and only boats with small motors are allowed. Fishermen abound and there are several small islands and beach areas to navigate or land upon.

Fees:

$6 parking, $5 kayak or canoe launch fee

Directions:

Route 44 to New Hartford. Follow signs past Ski Sundown.

Contact:

Metropolitan District Commission (the water company) polices and maintains the lake.
