Trip Overview

Put in at Lynches River County Park, about 10 miles South of Florence, SC. They have a great canoe/kayak launch there that makes river access a breeze.

Made the 2 hour paddle from LRCP to the landing at Hwy 52. A fair number of paddlers/boaters on the river due to it being Memorial Day. Everyone friendly and courteous.

River at average height, and current was steady, but not a problem. We were in a 14 ft tandem kayak with comfortable seats, and for most of the trip I did all the paddling from the rear.

Saw kingfishers, woodpeckers, waterbirds of many types, spider-lilies, cypress, and of course, the ever-present snake!

All in all, a relaxing paddle on a beautiful river. Best to run it when river is average water height. Bring bug repellent and sun screen. No blockages on this trip!
