Lake Sammamish Kayaking in a WILDLIFE WONDERLAND! Turtles, Beavers, Eagles, Herons, Kingfishers, Fish, Deer & More

A self-supported trip created by PresenceVideography

Trip Overview

Great half-day trip across the south end of Lake Sammamish State Park with side trips up Issaquah Creek and Tibbetts Creeks. Beautiful day, and incredible wildlife viewing for this lake just east of Seattle. Turtles, huge fish, deer, eagles, herons, kingfishers, beaver lodges, ducks, etc. Video shot with Insta360 X4 8K 30fps

Safety Notes

Check winds. I like to paddle in winds < 5 knots. I don't paddle in winds > 10 knots. Be careful of winds from north that can fetch larger waves at this south end of the lake.

Gear Notes

16ft touring kayak with dual bulkheads and rudder

Conditions

Light wind ~2 knots

Portage Notes
