Lake Ray Hubbard - Paddle Point Park

Trip Overview

Great put-in at Paddle Point. My friend and I first went under the railroad trestle - and explored the north side of the tracks. Water was a little high - so we did encounter a few stumps that were slightly submerged and not visible because of the murky water. We also swam for a bit - though the water was not cool. (it was not hot - but it wasn't as refreshing as it could have been.) The lake police (Dallas PD) did pop into the area under the trestle just to scan the north section of the lake - probably looking for boaters with alcohol - however there were only 5-6 kayakers - so they left the area without hassling anyone.

Safety Notes

Safety lift bar at Paddle point is broken (welds at base) and should be repaired for stability/safety.

Gear Notes

Bare kayaks and paddles - easy day. Sundolphin Aruba 12ss and Aruba 10.

Conditions

Sunny, HOT, light winds.

Portage Notes

Clean location at Paddle Point
