Lake Maurepas in Louisiana

Trip Overview

Launched at the boat launch. Took the small waterway west of Ruddock went through until we reached the large waterway which leads to Lake Maurepas. Lots of gators to see, especially in the small waterway which is really quiet.

After about .7 miles we entered Lake Maurepas, cooled off and ate launch before turning back. A very nice mixed trip with both lake and river.

A relaxing trip, fairly short and easy. The only problem, there is not anywhere to beach or go ashore so make sure you are comfortable in your kayak.
