Kayaking with AMC - Vermont to New Hampshire

Trip Overview

August 27, 2017

Paddle 6 miles on the Connecticut River in southern Vermont from below Sumner Falls to Cornish. The first 4 miles are quickwater and may be shallow and rocky – which means no motorboats! You will stop at the Path of Life Garden for an extended break and exploration. The route will pass alongside of Mt. Ascutney (3,150 ft). The Cornish boat launch is in sight of the longest covered bridge in America. If you continue south to Wilgus State Park, you paddle under a bridge. Kayak rentals are available from trip leader Bonna.

This is a one-day paddle trip. Overnight accommodations are available at Wilgus State Park in Vermont (make your own reservation) or local hotels (Windsor and White River Junction) for those who arrive Saturday.
