Jaycee Park

Trip Overview

We always put in here and kayak westward down to the dam. You can usually turn around at the dam because the current is weak enough to pick up where you put in. Just be mindful of the current before putting in. High water levels make the current so strong that it is impossible to kayak back to the park from the dam. There are lots of great sights which include downtown, the baseball field, the Grand Ledge water tower, the island, and the ledges. We actually kayaked right past a wedding while we were going by the island park.

Portage Notes

Small little boat ramp. Kayak ramp on the boat dock.
