Trip Overview
Took to a new part of the Iowa River the other day and had a great, short trip. We put in just south of the dam at Steamboat Rock. There's river access to the immediate south of the dam (north of D35) but there's a much easier access point, less rocks, to the south of D35 on the east side of the river.
There's small rapids here and there, but a pretty easy ride. Paddling rather steadily, the trip from Steamboat Rock to Eldora (Pine Lake) took right around an hour.
