Hardwood Lake

Trip Overview

We paddled for an hour and a half. We decided not to tick off the angry goose on the one side of the lake any more than he already was so it limited us a little. There were a few fishermen there but evidently few paddlers ever go there. The docks were literally falling apart. There was nice parking, but no bathrooms and no picnic area. There were a large range of bird species including kingfisher, heron, geese and ducks.

Safety Notes

There was a very angry Canada goose that made it well known to us that we should not be on his lake, We are guessing there are very few paddlers on the water.

Conditions

Run down. It used to be beautiful.

Portage Notes

This place has become rundown. There is no longer a dock and the areas that used to be hard surface are all broken down.
