Trip Overview

My wife, son and I took a trip on the Grand River yesterday. We started at Grand Woods Park in Delta Township which is a few miles West of Lansing. Grand Woods Park is in Delta Township in the area of Waverly and Willow. The park has a nice parking area that's located right on the river bank. Very easy and convenient access to the river.

From Grand Woods Park we went 3 hours downstream and took out at the city boat launch in Grand Ledge. The boat launch in Grand Ledge is located on the South side of the river just before M-100.

This was a great trip. The Grand River is wide in this area so there are no obstructions to worry about and there were even a few small rapids to keep things interesting. My son and I did some fishing along the way and caught small mouth bass in many locations. It was a lot of fun and a great way to spend the afternoon.
