Trip Overview

Game Creek at this point is a very slow moving medium-sized creek which flows into the Deepwater Canal. It flows thru meadows and some upland fields.

On the branch there is a beaver dam under construction. You can paddle upstream from the put-in on the north side of Route 40 and downstream from the put-in between the lanes of route 40 to the Salem River and the Deepwater Canal. This is a popular fishing spot.

6 Restaurants, 2 truckstops, Holiday Inn, Wellesley Inn within 2 miles.

Directions:

From exit one of the turnpike or exit 2 of 295 take county route 540 east to route 40 east. Go past the 2 mile marker, get in the left lane and take (just over the bridge)the first crossover to the west bound lanes. Immediately is one put-in on the right(north side) and another on the left(south side).

Launches:

Both put-ins have parking for 5 vehicles and ramps into the water.
