Paddle with the Authors of the "Florida Keys Paddling Atlas," Bill and Mary Burnham, the only guides offering the full 120-mile Key Largo to Key West (KL2KW) experience. Eleven days of paddling, fully-outfitted with meals included. Participants can also sign on for the "Half Marathon" 6-day 60-mile trip that meets at the halfway point in Marathon and lands in Key West.
The Burnhams have spent 15 years learning the intricacies of this 100-mile coral island chain, from local tides to Keys history and wildlife. Each trip starts with instruction and is geared to the group's abilities. Quality sea kayaks, camping gear, and meals are provided.
Join them in a watery world where fish school through shallow flats and sea turtles glide through turquoise blue channels. Also offered: 3-5 day primitive backcountry experience in the Lower Keys and in the Everglades. Contact: 305-240-0650, firstname.lastname@example.org
This is a strenuous trip, for experienced paddlers able to kayak 12-18 miles per day, in potentially rough seas, and able to do a wet-exit and assisted re-entry. If you need a refresher on this, consider coming a day early for instruction.
Quality sea kayaks and all camping gear is included in the price. Inquire about discounts if you want to bring your own kayak or gear. Kayak must be at least 16 feet long with double bulkheads.
