Flint River in Georgia

Trip Overview

There is another review on here that says its a great paddle to put in at West McIntosh Rd and go down to Hollanville Rd.

I followed the advice and decided to try the trip. I'm sure the river being low didn't really help matters too much, but the section between Hwy 16 and West McIntosh Rd was nearly impassable. I doubt the river is 3' lower than the other review, but that is about how much higher the water would have needed to be before it would be enjoyable....as well as allow you to pass most of the down trees along the way.

I put in around 11am and got out a little after 3pm at Hwy 16. I gave up on trying to complete the rest of it.

As a recommendation, start off at Hwy 16 and go down to either Hwy 362 or Hollonville Rd, it looks to be a lot nicer of a paddle.

Accommodations:

None, the firefighters are nice though.

Fees:

None

Directions:

Don't go to West McIntosh Rd, put in at the Fire Station at Highway 16 and take out off of either Hollonville Rd or Hwy 362.
