Trip Overview

Day trip. Lots of parking beside a brand new community centre and parking lot. Launch site for canoes, kayaks and stand up paddle boards only. Launch area is muddy, marsh like conditions with weeds, but manageable, Mississippi River is calm, glass, sunny on this particular day. Canoed about 4 Km west down the river and back. Saw lots of interesting wildlife, like a large snapping turtle, a deer across from launch area. muskrats, loons, ducks, blue herons, lots of small birds along the shore. Minimal cottages, with long stretches of marsh like conditions.Very enjoyable.
