Trip Overview

Good mix of easy to moderate rapids with a lot of flat water in between. We put in just south of the collinsville dam and paddled up river for a short time to get to the dam. You will have to walk up a few spots to get there. Initially the trip has more fast water than we expected followed by a long stretch of flat water (arms are burning this morning from as you will be paddling with no current most of the time). Takeout at the rt4 bridge in farmington. Due to the drop off on some of the rapids this is not a trip for first timers. total took up about 7.5 hrs although we did spend some time just floating around taking in the scenery. Overall very enjoyable trip and far less crowded than the upper part of the river.
