Trip Overview

We started at Fews Ford putin at the Eno River State Park off of ColeMill Rd. and takeout on Pleasant Green Rd.

The river level was 2.4 and it was quite pleasant. There were a few rapids and we didn't get stuck on rocks!! Major Plus when on the Eno... I always seem to go in a canoe when there is virtually no water!!

We went a day after a major rain storm hit Durham. I was dying to try out my new Kayak (sit on top) and I have never owned or really taken a Kayak out. It was great!

The rapids were smallish but fun for a beginner, and about the last mile of the paddle was flat water. Pretty scenery.

I wish the take out on Pleasant Green Rd. was a little better maintained, but it was ok. A few fallen trees on the way down, but with the water level, it was easy to duck under them. Nice trip for beginners.
