Enders Lake in Nebraska

Trip Overview

Enders Lake is a great place to paddle especially during the weekdays of summer. There are very few people on the lake at this time. This past week I went fishing from my kayak and caught three wipers over 24". Plus, lots of smallmouth bass, rock bass, crappie, and white bass. I fished mostly at the base of the dam along the rocks. It was easy to drift as the wind came directly from the south.

I used minnow spinners with much success. The paddling was difficult against the wind but the cool water was refreshing in the 90 plus degrees weather.

Lots of camping facilities. Washhouse, fish cleaning station and restrooms. Great bait shop called Lakers.

Nebraska Fishing License and State Park permit required.

Just 28 miles north of highway 6 and 34 and only 3.5 hours from Denver.
