Elkhorn River in Nebraska

Trip Overview

I put in at Maple street and took out at the Platte/Elkhorn convergence. It was calm, low, windy, and slow. I got stuck on sand 4 times.

At this time had to keep looking ahead. It was an unplanned exit as the trip ran over the time I planned.
Overall it took 5 hours.

I have seen that Dodge Street has a nice access point with a ramp. Also if you needed to exit river, Q street is a better alternative then waiting until the Platte converge.

Accommodations:

non motorized ramp access; nothing else.

Fees:

no

Directions:

Access Maple street on east side of the Elkhorn. Takeout at the Platte/Elkhorn convergence on the eastern side to Beil Dike Rd. Via Cornhusker. Beil dike to that point is private property. So I had to walk about 300 yards to Cornhusker to get picked up.

Resources:

I went over the Elkhorn's possible access points on a map app on the iPad just in case I needed to exit like I did...
