East Fork Tailwater to Sycamore Park

Trip Overview

River level was 15.99, which is a couple feet low for this river. Because of this I had to drag over rocks several times, which no doubt added some time. It took me 1 hour and 50 minutes.

This is a very nice stretch to enjoy nature at its finest, at least in Ohio. I saw 25 turtles, about 15 cranes and even a fat raccoon.

Safety Notes

Less than 5 minutes after launching in at EF there was a tree that went completely across the river and stuck out of the water almost 2’. I had to get out of my kayak, stand on the tree and lift my kayak over the downed tree.
