Trip Overview

Entered the Dupage River in Shorewood, IL at Seil Road and traveled to the I and M canal state park in Chanahon. It is an easy and pleasant trip assuming the water level to normal.

It is a nice 2 1/2 hour trip that ends in a great park with plenty of picnic tables and trees to provide cover. If you can pack a lunch it makes for a perfect early morning run. As you go down the river stay to your right when the river splits. This river can get very shallow in some parts during the summer and is best traveled right after a little rain during the week to raise the level a touch.

Accommodations:

Very good at the exit point in Chanahon. Restrooms, picnic tables lots of parking.

Fees:

None

Directions:

Get off I-55 and go west to river road(3 miles). Go south on River(1 mile) and take a left at seil to the river access which is about 1000 feet of of river when you make the left.
