Trip Overview
After reading about
Dubes Pond in "Quiet Water," we went there on a beautiful day. It was all the book described -- but, sadly, more: a water skiing, sectioned-off, buoyed lane right down the middle of the waterway! One of the property owners charged up and down this lane, the skier dumping on one end, getting up again, charging down the lane to the other end, dumping again, etc. In some ways the worst example of what people will do to an otherwise pristine piece of our environment. Maybe when the water gets too cold they will pull the skiing buoys...
