Trip Overview
A 9.5 mile paddle on an incoming tide from Hilton Park in Dover, NH to Schanda Park in Newmarket, NH. A leisurely 3 hour paddle with light winds and a few sprinkles. Because we were able to paddle with an incoming tide concerns about stranding on a mud flat were minimal. We launched 2 hours after low tide at Hilton Park and had an our to spare with the tide at the take out. Boat traffic was nonexistent. Fall color was excellent.Safety Notes
All planning and safety precautions necessary for an early fall paddle on an estuary in New England. Biggest concern was rain. A weekend paddle might have more boat traffic. A halfway point break is possible at Adams Point, Durham, NH which has a half tide ramp and parking but no bathroom facilities.Gear Notes
Two Necky Manitou 14's.Conditions
Calm to a breeze under 5 mph from the NW. Sprinkles for the last hour of the paddle.Trip Details
