Discovery Islands Kayaking Expedition, BC

Trip Overview

Included in National Geographic Canada’s 50 Places of a Lifetime, the Discovery Islands are a kayaker’s paradise and considered to be one of the West Coast’s best kept secrets.

Launching from breathtaking Rebecca Spit Provincial Park located in Quadra Island’s Heriot Bay, kayakers venture into the group of sparsely inhabited islands to explore the myriad of channels, bays, coves, points and passages.

Enjoy setting up camp at a different location each day and lighting campfires under the starry skies each night.

The Islands host abundant wildlife and are home to sea lions, seals, pacific white sided dolphins, orca, humpback whales, otters, colorful birds and some of the largest starfish and clams in the world. Playful seals and seal pups often approach sea kayaks!

Each trip is customized to suit the group’s paddling ability and interests. Trips available June, July and August.
