On the Fox River, starting at Mitchell Park and heading downstream. Convenient and plentiful parking near the put-in, across from the baseball diamond. The river here is narrow and twisty anyway, and on this day weeds left only about a 10' wide channel. It was a challenge to keep my 14.5' boat in decent water. About a mile downstream a footbridge crosses the river. Weeds formed a very thick mat for about 50' in front of the bridge. It couldn't be pushed through and there was no place to take out on either side. Back to the car...
