Trip Overview

Free spot to kayak or canoe in the Pamlico River at the end of Dinah's Landing Road in Washington, NC. This is part of Goose Creek State Park. There is plenty of parking in the parking lot or on the grass off the road. There is a boat ramp, but you don't need to use it to put your kayak/canoe in. There is also one restroom (primitive).

Roughly 2 hours away from Raleigh, this is a great spot to be out in nature. You will see a lot of Spanish moss, turtles, dead trees, Rose Mallow flowers, Osprey, jumping fish everywhere and even jellyfish.

You could probably swim on the little beach, but be careful—there are jellyfish.

Bring your own vessel, there is nowhere that I saw where you can rent anything.

You can picnic here, too as there are several picnic tables.

We were here on July 4th and there were only 2 other paddlers on the water.
