Dramatic fjords and steep evergreen forests await adventurous sea kayakers paddling through Desolation Sound. With over 60 km (37 miles) of remote coastline to discover, the power and beauty of the wilderness provides many magical moments. Wildlife including bald eagles, whales, dolphins, sea lions, porpoises, seals and black bears all inhabit this region. The warm waters are excellent for swimming. When on land the native hiking trails in the rugged forests lead up to fresh water lakes and hidden waterfalls. Experience Desolation Sound’s protected waters for a serenity and escape from the chaos of everyday life.
This trip is fully outfitted and includes kayaks, tents, sleeping bags, & delicious local food. Great kayak trip for both experienced and first time paddlers.
Trips operate in June and September.
We did the Desolation Sound Tour June 16th, 2019. The trip included all gear, even sleeping bags and tent. Our first night stay was at a delightful waterfront lodge for meet and greet of the guides. Excellent service, perfect food, and Desolation sound for five days. Worth every penny.
