Went right from boat launch. Meanders by houses, but quickly alone. Saw numerous birds- herons, egrets; came across a romp (6-8) of otters (within 10 feet of me). Current unpredictable at times, but never unmanageable.Only local boat traffic (~2). Near Fort Eustis; lot of federal property. Allow 3 hours.
