Trip Overview

Headed out at about 8:30am on Saturday morning to do a little fishing and exploring. Group of 9. We put in at Howards Mill Bridge and took out at High Falls Dam. Several rock gardens and good flow of water, there are about three places in the first third of the river that provide a challenge but are fun to run. The only one I would warn everyone about is the last which is called Johnsons Ford. This is a class 3 rapid that we were not informed of and it caused 4 of our canoes some trouble. We learned after the trip that their is a way around it to the left behind an island. Great run even with the difficulty.
