Current River in Missouri

Trip Overview

As usual, the Current River was beautiful! Water was plentiful and clear. Scenery was beautiful.

We floated from Williams landing (north of Jerktail Landing) to Two Rivers, where the Jack's Fork River joins the Current. These two rivers are part of the federal Ozark National Scenic Riverways. This is a spring-fed river so the temperature is 58-60 degrees.

This weekend there were quite a few locals in jet-powered boats running up and down the river with little regard for canoes. That I can deal with. The noise from them was pretty annoying... however, it was a trip worth making.

Accommodations:

Camping, fishing, canoe rental/shuttle, store.
