Trip Overview

Several adults and youth had great trips down Crabtree Creek to the Lassiter Mill dam. The trick is to check the USGS gauge via Internet. Enter Crabtree Creek at Ebenezer Church Road. Three to four feet of water is ideal.

The creek runs through scenic heavy woods, even as it also is near some office areas and a regional shopping center. The run ends at a four foot high dam that must be portaged. The creek below the dam can be navigated, but is more challenging because of downed trees and lower water levels. A small park with public parking is adjacent to the dam.
