Trip Overview

Lake Crabtree is a 520 acre lake just off I-40 outside Raleigh, NC. It's surprisingly peaceful and beautiful considering the location.

It's a good place for beginner paddlers to practice their skills before they move on to more challenging arenas.

Accommodations:

Boat rentals, picnic shelters, restrooms, boat ramps.

Fees:

$2 for car top boats, $3 for boats on a trailer.

Directions:

Exit 285 (Aviation Blvd) from I-40, park is the first left.
