Trip Overview

A morning kayak paddle on the Coosa River. Weather was beautiful. Paddled east on Coosa to Tallapoosa River, then south quietly observing active wildlife. The belted kingfishers were always in sight; also, saw great blue herons, an osprey, a quick view of a painted bunting hopping through bank underbrush, and a skink on river bank.

After a couple of hours on the water a beaver was seen paddling near the public boat ramp. This area is great for a leisurely paddle with a guarantee to see some wildlife.
