Conawingo Pond in Pennsylvania

Trip Overview

A rather huge body of water with 10 or more islands to paddle out to. Passageways thru islands are spectacular, with eagles and deer. An excellent day trip or you can overnight paddle up river, which is a lake. In this area and you will enter lower muddy creek, paddle to the last rapid, which is the first rapid you will come to from the bottom. There's a sandy beach on your left but walk up past the ww and there's a cascading waterfall to your right and a great place to swim. One of the better day paddles around.

Directions:

One hr from Baltimore, 1 hr plus from Philly, 2hrs max from D.C. Delta, PA just over the line 30 minutes from interstate 95. Put in cold cabin park cold cabin road.
