Coldwater Lake WA

A self-supported trip created by BrainardLake

Trip Overview

Coldwater Lake in WA was created by the Mt St Helens eruption, is at 2,500 feet and it is a beautiful setting especially in the Fall with the changing leaves.

Paddled the majority of the 180 ft deep lake (5 miles long) in the early morning with canoe & kayak.

Followed the S shoreline and enjoyed various streams & waterfalls flowing into the lake.

We had the lake to ourselves this late in the season. Restrooms and water at the boat launch which had capacity for at least 15 trucks/trailers. It also has a trail around the whole lake which is only about half a mile wide.
fishing was fun.
Highly recommend especially in the Fall.
Johnson observatory nearby was amazing
