Clinton River in Michigan

Trip Overview

Kayaked the upper section of the Clinton from the covered bridge at Elizabeth Lake Road near Airport Road to the boat ramp on Cass Lake's Dodge Brothers #4 State Park.

Surprising how remote the trip seemed given the river meanders through the suburbs of Detroit. Saw deer, blue herons, egrets and a furry mammal of an indeterminate species. Probably a muskrat. Water was crystal clear and deep enough all the way. Used a bike to retrieve my vehicle. 2 hours on the water; 1/2 hour on the bike.

Fees:

Recreational Passport for access to the state park
